Wiretap is a raid in RAID : WWII.
Briefing[ | ]
Franz Lange is the Resistances top code-breaker. Last night he was arrested and is currently being held at a radio camp outside Kassel. Lange has recovered intel that is vital to Mrs. White. Rescue him and get him out with his intel.
Intel[ | ]
The Signal Corps camp: The radio tower sits within a camp of the Wehrmacht Signal Corps. It's quite vital to the Nazis. Once we have what we need, feel free to destroy it.
Franz Lange: You are to rescue Franz Lange - a communications genius, and one of my top agents. It's hard to overestimate the value of his expertise, so see that he's kept safe.
Local barricades: The surrounding area has a number of strong barricades. Be sure to use these to your advantage.
The Radio Mast: The radio mast can send and receive high-level communiques. Once he is free, Franz Lange should be able to use it.
Recording devices: Should Franz become indisposed, you must manually record the signals being sent by the Nazis. It may take longer, but we can decode these messages.
Objectives[ | ]
- This mission can be done stealthily. There's plenty of nooks and crannies, allowing you to effectively evade detection and hide the bodies.
- Find Lange
- Lange is located in a tent in the area beyond the park, usually with a Waffen-SS lad attending to him. Kill the Nazi and free Lange. However, before you untie him, you can use the free time to explore the area and gather loot and dog tags. The mission won't progress until you release Lange.
- Lange will ask you to retrieve his wiretapping tools, in a red tool box.
- Acquire the intel
- Bring them to Lange. He will climb the radio mast and you will be tasked with protecting him until he receives the intel. This means going to the front yard and defending it against the enemy. You will also have to close the gates. After that you will have to stem the enemy attack until the Intel is received. Oh, and a Tiger comes.
- Ensure Lange survives
- To keep the Tiger back, you need to prevent it from destroying the tank barricades (or rather, the troops accompanying it, who will all try to blow up the barricades). If the first one falls, you will have to blow up the small bridge or archway in its path to direct it to another route, which is still blocked. Of course, the dynamite is airdropped for you after some time.
- Lange will be safe as long as no Nazis make it up there. They will try to climb the tower using its attachment cables and the tower itself. If the Tiger makes it to the barricaded gate, it will blow it up and a lot more Nazis will start rushing in.
- If Lange is killed, you will be forced to manually record the messages using a box at the base of the bridge, lengthening an already long defensive sequence.
- Escape
- Once either Lange or the recording is done, you will have to detach the four cables anchoring the mast, then wait for it to topple and escape via the opening in the wall.
